Each month has a different focus area that includes common reads, speakers, and historic site visits.

A leading Northland campus in Kansas City

MCC-Maple Woods gets its name from a nearby stand of sugar maple trees. Located in Kansas City’s Northland, MCC-Maple Woods is the premier college destination for students seeking accessible, high-quality education. The campus provides a welcoming environment that supports academic success, career preparation, and offers a variety of academic programs, attracting students pursuing transfer pathways or workforce-ready degrees.

Student experience and campus life

MCC-Maple Woods offers a vibrant campus experience with opportunities for involvement and connection. Students can join clubs, participate in athletics and attend events that promote engagement and leadership. MCC Wolves sports programs at Maple Woods are baseball and softball.

Each October Honk & Howl event (trunk & treat) is held and is free to the public.

The campus takes a student-centered approach, guiding learners from enrollment through graduation. Student success services in advising, career support and community resources, including food assistance, help students overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. Resources like tutoring, library access, and the Honors program foster learning and academic achievement.

Academics & programs

MCC-Maple Woods offers a range of programs aligned with in-demand careers and transfer goals. This campus is especially known for veterinary technology, business administration, agriculture and engineering. These programs emphasize hands-on learning and prepare students for further education or immediate employment.
