Welcome to MCC-Longview

Proud to be Lee's Summit's community college, MCC‑Longview is designed to support both academic transfer pathways to a four-year institution and workforce training. MCC-Longview offers a welcoming and accessible environment where students can achieve their educational and professional goals.

Student experience and campus life

The MCC-Longview campus fosters a vibrant student experience with opportunities to get involved both inside and outside the classroom. Students can participate in clubs and organizations, athletics and campus events that encourage personal growth and community engagement. MCC Wolves sports programs at Longview are soccer and volleyball.

Each spring, MCC-Longview hosts Flights of Fancy, a family friendly event featuring picturesque kites. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and a kite to soar over Longview's campus lawn. 

Arts & culture

A central feature of MCC-Longview is its Cultural Arts Center, which enriches campus life through performances, exhibitions, and creative programming. This space connects students and the community, making the campus a hub for cultural expression and artistic development in the region.

Student resources

MCC‑Longview offers comprehensive resources to support student success, including a library, dining options, career services, the Honors program and access to essential support like food pantry programs. Academic support services such as tutoring, the Writing Studio, the STEM lab and advising are available to help ensure every learner has the tools they need to succeed.

These services contribute to a well-rounded college experience focused on both academic achievement and student well‑being.

MCC‑Longview provides a diverse selection of programs tailored to meet workforce needs and university transfer requirements. Students can explore areas in business administration, engineering, software development, social work, automotive technology at the Automotive Institute and education/teaching.

These programs combine practical skills with strong academic foundations to prepare graduates for in‑demand careers or continued study at four‑year institutions.
