Upon arrival, check in with the International Student Services Office at Metropolitan Community College - Penn Valley 3201 Southwest Trafficway, Kansas City MO 64111.

If you have not taken the equivalent of ENGL 101 at a U.S. institution and earned a "C" or higher, you will need to take the English Placement Test. Metropolitan Community College - Penn Valley offers comprehensive English as a Second Language instruction for academic, personal or professional purposes. Grammar, composition, reading/vocabulary and speaking/listening are available at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Day and evening classes are offered.

You can contact the English as a Second Language Department via email at pv.esl@mcckc.edu if you have further questions.

Students may take classes at any of the five campuses in the MCC District once they have completed any required ESL coursework. At the current time, ESL classes are only offered at the MCC-Penn Valley campus.
