A Little Heavy Metal is Powering up HVAC Training at MCC

Thanks to a $50,000 grant from Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation, students in MCC’s HVAC program at the Advanced Technical Skills Institute (ATSI) are gaining hands-on experience with advanced inverter technology.

MCC is one of just 18 institutions nationwide selected for the eighth cohort of the Metallica Scholars Initiative, which supports career and technical education programs preparing students for skilled-trades careers.

The grant is helping MCC bring Mitsubishi Electric inverter technology into HVAC training. The energy-efficient technology is increasingly used in the industry, giving students valuable experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and servicing equipment they may encounter on the job.

The investment strengthens MCC’s hands-on HVAC training while helping prepare students for in-demand careers across the Kansas City region. Check out the video below.
