Sergeant Roneice McHenry Honored with MCCPD Lifesaving Award for Saving a Student’s Life

 Sergeant McHenry (pictured left) received the MCCPD Lifesaving Award from Chief Jamerson (pictured right)On April 29, 2026, Sergeant Roneice McHenry responded to a medical emergency involving a student experiencing a severe allergic reaction at the Blue River Campus.

With the student unable to self-administer her prescribed epinephrine and EMS delayed, Sergeant McHenry quickly recognized the urgency of the situation and administered the student’s EpiPen, helping stabilize her condition and ultimately saving her life.

By the time paramedics arrived, the student’s condition had significantly improved, allowing for a more controlled transport.

Following the incident, Sergeant McHenry also comforted students who witnessed the emergency and contacted the students’ parents to provide reassurance and hospital information.

In recognition of her professionalism, compassion, courage, and “student first” mindset, Sergeant McHenry (pictured left) received the MCCPD Lifesaving Award from Chief Jamerson (pictured right) at the Blue River President's Advisory Council meeting on May 6, 2026.
