The U.S. Armed Forces offer some of the finest technical training in the world, as well as many other opportunities for educational experiences, both in the classroom and in the field. Metropolitan Community College offers three ways for you to get credit for what you have learned while serving our country.
Military training programs
You can get credit for military training programs or for learning based on your military occupation (MOS) or rating. MCC uses the guidelines of the American Council on Education (ACE) to award credit. There is no charge for the credit. Speak with a Student Success Advisor to determine how this credit may help you complete a certificate or degree.

Learning based on military occupation (MOS)
For learning accomplished in the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard, an official military transcript must be sent directly from the Joint Services Transcript Center and to the MCC Student Data Center, 3200 Broadway, Kansas City MO 64111. Credits from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) are treated exactly like transferred credits from any other accredited college.
Military technology degree
Take a look at our Military Technology degree completion program. A degree may be a lot closer than you think! If you have already completed a 4-year military technical training program, it may be worth 30 credit hours at MCC and you may be able to earn a degree in as little as two semesters. Contact a Student Success Advisor for more information.
If you passed a DANTES/DSST, AP, CLEP, Excelsior or IB exam you may be eligible to get credit. Send official scores to the MCC Student Data Center, 3200 Broadway, Kansas City, Missouri 64111.
