Metropolitan Community College Kansas City’s (MCCKC) ERP system, which houses all production student data, is a cloud-based SaaS solution hosted by Ellucian. The following outlines data backup and recovery mechanisms in place to protect student data from loss or corruption.
- All production student data is replicated to recovery environments to help maintain service continuity and minimize data loss.
- Ellucian utilizes cloud-based DR environments, provisioned across multiple Amazon Web Services (AWS) Availability Zones, with redundancy and secure connectivity to ensure high availability and geographic diversity.
- All DR operations are performed within secure environments that adhere to Ellucian’s security standards, firewall configurations, and compliance requirements. Data integrity and confidentiality are prioritized throughout the recovery lifecycle.
- The Ellucian Cloud Disaster Recovery Plan (CDRP) is tested at least annually, or more frequently when there are significant changes to systems or services. Tests help validate procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
