The MCC-Longview Automotive Institute is a leader in hands-on automotive technical
education in collision repair, automotive technology and diesel technology. Each program
delivers industry-driven training with expert instruction and high-tech equipment
preparing students for in-demand careers.
Opened in Fall 2025, the $27.9 million building doubled the square footage for automotive programming and connected the existing Automotive High Technology building to the center of the MCC-Longview campus.

About the institute
In March 2025, the college opened the Agriculture Annex, a facility designed to support hands-on learning.
The new facility features renovations of the existing automotive High Technology building and construction of an additional 39,000 square feet, creating an open-concept design inspired by modern auto dealerships, and modernized teaching labs.
The MCC-Longview Automotive Institute also includes:
- Dedicated space for each of the three automotive programs
- A second-floor observation bridge overlooking 24 automotive work bays
- Expanded footprint for the Collision program
- State-of-art equipment for each program

MCC's corporate training partnerships with General Motors, Honda and Ford provides career-ready credentials and paid cooperative work experience with top US and international automotive industry leaders.
MCC-Longview's automotive training programs are accredited by the ASE Education Foundation at the Master Automotive Service Technology (MAST) level.
Automotive programs
The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Automotive Technology prepares students for careers in the automotive industry. The program offers six pathways towards an associate degree and five certificate options:
Collision Repair Technology
Students will be trained in areas of collision repair technology including: non-structural repair, structural repair, refinishing, estimating and shop management.
This program includes certificates in: collision repair technology; collision repair technology - non-structural repair; and, collision repair technology - refinishing. Learn more about the Collision Repair degree and certificate options.
Ford Asset
The Ford ASSET program uses curriculum designed by Ford and Metropolitan Community College, including advanced and specialized training on the latest Ford equipment and service procedures. This program includes cooperative work experience at a Ford or Lincoln dealership.
GM - ASEP
The General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) is designed for students interested in a career path at a General Motors dealership or an AC-Delco TSS service center. The curriculum is designed by GM and Metropolitan Community College.
The program is divided into 40% classroom and 60% laboratory work on GM products; additionally, cooperative work experience is included at a General Motors dealership or an AC-Delco TSS service center. Learn more about the GM/ASEP program.
Honda PACT
The Honda Professional Automotive Career Training (PACT) program uses a curriculum designed by Honda and Metropolitan Community College for a career at Honda or Acura dealership. Students have a hands-on training with Honda and Acura products and service procedures. The program includes a paid cooperative work experience with a Honda or Acura dealership.
Medium Heavy Duty Diesel Truck
Students will be trained in areas of diesel repair including: diesel engine repair, electrical systems, braking and hydraulic systems, steering and suspension systems and manual and automatic transmissions. Learn more about the Medium and Heavy Duty Diesel Truck degree.
Mechanical
For more than fifty years, Metropolitan Community College's has trained students in mechanical automotive technology, making it an ideal degree for students interested in vehicle repair and diagnostics. Students will develop skills in all major vehicle systems preparing students for careers in the automotive industry.

Early College Academy Automotive Program
High school students can take auto classes at MCC to complete their degree early. High school juniors across the Kansas City area can launch their automotive career early at MCC-Longview.
