Social work training helps prepare you for being an advocate for people who are often in difficult situations. Social workers may work with children, aging adults, victims of crime or trauma, people handling addiction, and those facing difficult family or legal situations.

Careers in social work include case workers, case managers and counselors. Employment exists in a variety of areas including with the department of corrections, police departments, marriage and family counselors, mental health facilities, rehabilitation facilities for substance abuse and addiction, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals.
