Office of Institutional Impact (OII)

Our Community, Our Why

“Our community is our why. Each of us has come to MCC—be it as a student, employee, or community partner. Regardless of our individual journeys, MCC serves as the unifying thread that connects us all. This shared commitment inspires us to foster environments and create opportunities where students can have full participation in their education.

For employees, this means we have the opportunity to truly prepare, serve and create opportunities for education and engagement and spaces to thrive. As a community we have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of our students and colleagues, ultimately impacting and enhancing our entire community.”

Scope of Work

The Office of Institutional Impact (OII) closely reviews MCC processes, systems, and programs to help ensure fair treatment for all. The OII serves as a conduit, resource, and support for the entire district and community.

We work with internal and external partners to find solutions to the questions and challenges we want to resolve for our communities as it relates to foundational tenets That are a part of the MCC mission, vision, values and ecosystem as well as the Student Lifecycle. Specifically, The OII uses Access, Persistence, Completion and Continued lifelong learning as it’s guiding principles.

The WHY behind the work

The OII works through the employees to better serve our students along the student lifecycle. The intent is to engage MCC employees in ways that educate, engage, and acknowledge the various experiences of our students, one another and our surrounding community.

The most essential parts of the OII’s work are the PEOPLE! The individuals that represent our students, staff, faculty, campuses and communities at the heart of the work of the OII.

The OII seeks out opportunities that will impact, elevate, embrace, and engage the internal and external community. Our intention is that, that work will continue to push MCC to the forefront as THE college to attend and to work for.

Community partnerships, social & cultural acknowledgements, and the broad engagement seek to bring awareness to the various identities that exist within our community. The OII intends to provide awareness, education and exposure to information in an effort to better understand, support, nurture and simply be aware of the amazing differences that are make MCC what it is.

The bottom line is that we cannot authentically support, engage, embrace, evolve and subsequently elevate our work if we are not aware of who desires and deserves to belong to our extraordinary community.
