Are tickets required for the ceremony?
Tickets are required for guests. Guest tickets will be mailed by May 7th to the graduate, so be sure your address is correct in myMCCKC. Graduates will receive their own seat assignments when they check in at Starlight.
Are 2020 graduates invited to participate in the 2021 Commencement Ceremony?
Yes, all 2020 graduates are invited to participate and should watch their email for information.
Will there be COVID-19 safety protocols in place?
All attendees are required to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth. Seats will be assigned and spaced for social distancing; no shifting or swapping seats. Everyone will be directed to maintain social distance of 6 feet, and sanitizing stations are available inside the venue.
Can I bring a bottle of water?
Yes. Participating graduates will receive a bottle of water at check-in. Guests can bring either one 24-ounce sealed bottle of water or an empty, reusable water bottle (metal or hard plastic). Starlight has water refill stations (drinking fountains will not be operational). Also, concession stands will be open.
Is there a rain date?
Since Starlight is an outdoor venue, a rain date has been set for May 14. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, graduates would be notified by email and posts would be made on the MCC website and social-media accounts.
Is there only one commencement ceremony for all MCC campuses?
Yes. There is just one ceremony each year for all campuses.
How long is the commencement ceremony?
The ceremony lasts approximately two hours. Plan to attend the entire time, as your degree will not be conferred until the end.
Will I be photographed?
Professional photographers will take photos that can be purchased online later. If you would like to pre-register at the Grad Images site and receive a coupon for 20 percent off, visit: gradimages.com/registration.

How will parking work at Starlight?
