Lineman

LINE 215 - Setting and Replacing Poles (3 credits)

Prerequisites: LINE 210, LINE 237, LINE 241, and LINE 251 with grades of C or higher. This course will introduce the student to a digger derrick's operation, inspection, and safety in constructing electrical distribution systems. Students will have a hands-on operation of the truck to remove old poles and set new poles in the field. Students will learn hand signals, rigging, lifting capacities, minimum approach distances, and worksite hazard analysis.
