Legal and Paralegal Studies

LEGL 104 - Legal Technology I (3 credits)

Prerequisites: ENGL 101 or higher, CSIS 115, COMM 100 or COMM 102, LEGL 100, and admission into the Legal and Paralegal Studies Program. This course will provide students with an overview of technology applicable to law office settings. Students will explore document management, document creation, litigation support, and case management software. Students will examine challenges associated with technology such as ethics and security. This course includes hands-on assignments utilizing various software programs commonly used in the legal and business community. It is designed to prepare students with the theoretical and practical skills to enable them to leverage technology utilized in modern legal practice.
