Health Information Management

HIM 130 - Health Data Systems (3 credits)

Prerequisites: HIM 101, HIM 110, HIM 112 and HIM 115, with a grade of C or better, and Formal Admittance to the Health Information Management Program. The role of health information management and the electronic health record that includes computer hardware, operating systems, networking concepts, and user interfaces. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of database management principles, data security, and information retrieval and reporting inherent in electronic health records management.
