Surgical Technology

SURT 120 - Fundamentals of Surgical Technology I (5 credits)

Prerequisites: SURT 100, SURT 103, SURT 105, SURT 109 & formal acceptance into the Surgical Technology program. Applied principles of medical and surgical asepsis in the operating room. Focused on preparation and maintenance to the sterile field, identification, care and handling of instruments, suture, supplies, and equipment. Emphasis is on basic skills of the Surgical Technologist in preparation for and during the operative procedure.
