Academic Transition – College 100 – Peer Mentoring

First-time students have a unique learning curve to mastering the college environment. COLL 100 is a one credit-hour course designed to help students navigate the college experience, develop a better understanding of the learning process and acquire essential academic survival skills. Throughout this class, students engage with their instructor as well as their peer mentor who is trained to support the transition to college.

Peer mentors engage, support, and motivate first-year students by providing new ideas and the student perspective to make the mentoring experience informative, interesting, and meaningful for all.

Engaging in this class and with a Peer Mentor has shown to have a positive impact on student success.
