The MCC-Longview music department offers courses for everyone from beginners to music majors. Day, evening, eight-week and online courses that fulfill general education requirements are available. Courses count towards an associate's degree and should transfer to four-year institutions.
The MCC-Longview music department houses an advanced MAC/PC lab that uses technology to aid learning of reading music, theory, ear training and piano skills. Students will spend time improving their skills through the use of MIDI keyboards and some of the most current technology in the lab.
The MCC-Longview music department has soundproof practice rooms available for private instruction students to rehearse and prepare their music.
Private Instruction is a one-on-one lesson between a student and a teacher. Everyone is welcome, from beginner to experienced musicians. Your teacher will work with you at your level. Lessons are available for voice and most instruments including brass, guitar, percussion, piano, strings and woodwinds.
