About All for the Children

Vision

All for the Children aims to improve the quality of life for those within our community through education and community engagement.

History

The Annual All for the Children event is the brainchild of MCC-Blue River instructor Kim Glackin with assistance from fellow instructors. MCC-Blue River also partners with various business partners around the KC Metro, specifically Independence and Blue Springs, along with the students of the Independence School District's Little Blue Elementary School.

There are factors that contribute to child abuse, including poverty, financial stresses, lack of knowledge among adults about parenting skills and child development and the use of drugs and alcohol around children. About 80 percent of them are under the age of four. Our community can protect its children by educating families about parenting and child development, and by building community support for children and their families.

Volunteer Opportunities

MCC-Blue River All for the Children welcomes community volunteers.

Safety

Safety is the upmost important, so MCC-Blue River asks, for the safety of our event-goers, that guests do not bring pets, glass or alcohol to All for the Children.

We ask that all children will need to be supervised by family members at all time throughout the event.
