Commencement

Metropolitan Community College's 2024 commencement ceremonies will be held at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.

Please read the following two documents to prepare for commencement:

Guests and seating
You are welcome to invite your family and friends to attend; tickets are not required.

Parking, grad entrance and guest entrance
Parking at Cable Dahmer Arena is free for this event. When you arrive, guest services attendants will direct you to available parking, including ADA-accessible parking if needed.

Graduates should enter at the south entrance marked “Community Ice.” Guests should enter from the main entrance on the east side of the venue, marked “Cable Dahmer Arena.” Please refer to the map inside the Commencement Information Packet for help locating these two entrance points. The two entrances will be marked with A-frame signs to assist everyone in finding their way, and guest services attendants will be glad to help, as well.

If you were unable to pick up your complimentary cap and gown, tassel, MCC graduation medallion and five graduation announcements at our recent Grad Bag events, get yours by visiting a campus bookstore during normal business hours, May 6-10. For bookstore hours, visit mcckc.edu/bookstore.

Caps and gowns will also be available at Cable Dahmer Arena prior to the ceremony.
