Social Justice Conference
Metropolitan Community College
November 10, 2017
The goal of the Social Justice Conference is to provide practitioners with an experience in which they can walk away with tools to help them grow as advocates for social justice on their campuses. This one-day event will feature engaging speakers and interactive workshops in a topical track format. Each participant will leave with an “action plan” to help them develop their goals to take back to campus.
SJC will be featuring interactive workshops and knowledgeable speakers addressing social justice initiatives and practices. SJC participants will have a chance to network and discuss what is happening on their campuses in a setting that allows for networking on best practices. This will also allow for participants to develop ideas and programs that fit their specific campus needs.
The SJC goal is to provide participants with an opportunity to share ideas, strategies, and programs centered on Social Justice so that professionals can get “tools” to take back to their campuses that promote, encourage and create inclusive experiences for students.
On behalf of the Office on Inclusion and Engagements and the Office of the Chancellor for the Metropolitan Community College, we are pleased to extend an invitation to attend the Social Justice Conference on November 10, 2017. SJC's goal is to provide participants with an opportunity to share ideas, strategies and programs centered on Social Justice so that professionals can get tools to take back to their campuses that promote, encourage and create inclusive experiences for faculty, staff and students.
Our hope is to provide practitioners with an experience where they can focus on their own learning and development. This will increase their multicultural competency and provide practical ideas and strategies to implement in their daily responsibilities and work.
The SJC will provide opportunities to meet, network, and learn from other campus professionals that are dedicated to serving the needs of our students through social justice work. Please register as soon as possible as space is limited.
We look forward to seeing you at SJC!
