Military

Enroll and Get Benefits

We honor and welcome those who are currently serving our country through active duty, reserves and the National Guard. Stop by a veterans office (located in your campus financial aid office) for personal help and to get information.

1. Apply to the college

Contact your previous college(s) or if this is your first time in college, contact your high school, to request official copies of your transcripts to be sent to the records office. Information about military transcripts and how to request transcripts is available at the following links:

Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy(JST transcript)
Air Force (CCAF)

An official military transcript must be sent directly from the Joint Services Transcript Center at https://jst.doded.mil to the MCC Student Data Center, 3200 Broadway, Kansas City MO 64111

2. Apply for financial aid

Many students are eligible for financial aid, including grants and scholarships. Most forms of financial aid do not affect your tuition assistance. Complete an online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to get started. MCC's school code is 002484.

3. Register for classes and submit a TA Authorization

Contact an academic advisor at your campus for assistance in creating an academic plan and choosing courses.

To use Tuition Assistance through the military, you will need to submit an approved TA Authorization to the Cashier’s Office or Enrollment Center at your campus, and ask them to forward it to Longview for processing with a request to hold your classes. If your TA administrator requests a program plan of study, you should be able to use a printed class schedule and account summary of fees. Your campus Cashier’s Office should be able to provide this for you.

Each branch of service has its own rules and methods of applying for TA, so you'll need to contact your unit for application assistance.

4. Pay for classes

It is every student's responsibility to ensure that their student account is current and paid in full by the payment deadline each term. Each student's level of benefits is unique and TA may not cover all of the term's fees. Options for payment may include Federal student aid and/or the MCC payment plan.
