Calibration Module

The Calibration module enables you to track inspection and calibration information on all equipment for which calibration is required on a routine basis. Reports can be run that display when calibration is due for the equipment being tracked as well as calibration which is overdue.

A typical calibration cycle would occur in the following way:

  1. An administrator creates a new record in Calibration for a new piece of eqiupment that needs to be calibrated at regular intervals. This new record includes an entry for how frequently the equipment needs to be calibrated.

  2. An administrator adds the Task List. This entails adding entries for each task or test that needs to be performed on the equipment to verify that it is calibrated within tolerance for any characteristics.

  3. The first calibration is performed on the equipment item.

  4. An individual with mid-level or administrator security locates the equipment record in Calibration, enters a Calibration Date (to indicate the day the calibration took place) and selects the Pass/Fail status. The changes are saved by clicking Update (A new Calibration Due Date is automatically set based on the entered Calibration Date and the Calibration Cycle value.)

  5. An individual with mid-level or administrator security then accesses the Calibration Results page for this equipment item and enters the detail on the calibration findings. These details include general observations and corrective actions in addition to detailed findings for each task/test.

  6. For all subsequent calibration tests, steps 4 and 5 are repeated.

Viewing a Calibration Record (level 1)

Calibration module, a user can view calibration records for equipment or products. Calibration equipment data includes detailed information on the item to be tracked as well as the last calibration date, the calibration cycle and the calibration due date. In addition, a user can also view specific results from the last calibration performed. With this level of access, a user can only view the information on the calibrated equipment and the calibration results/findings.

Updating Calibration Results (level 2)

Calibration module, there is a mid-level access for users to enter calibration dates and results records for equipment or products. If you have this level of security, your Calibration menu will include Calibration (Edit). Calibration equipment data includes detailed information on the item to be tracked as well as the last calibration date, calibration cycle, calibration due date, and calibration results data. With this level of access, the user can only modify the Calibration Date, Pass/Fail indicator and Comments on this page. When you have finished making your revisions to the page, click Update to save the changes.

With this level of access you can create or add result findings from a specific calibration.

Maintaining Calibration Data (level 3)

An administrator of the Calibration module can enter equipment data on items that require routine calibration as well as record calibration result data for each calibration performed.

Calibration module, a user can create and update calibration records for equipment or products as well as record calibration results. Calibration equipment data includes detailed information on the item to be tracked as well as the last calibration date, calibration cycle, calibration due date and results data.

An administrator can modify the calibration tasks associated with each equipment item. These tasks are those activities that are to be performed during every calibration on a given equipment item. The task list acts as a checklist for the calibrator to identify what tests/measurements to complete.

Reports

There are five standards reports available in the Calibration module. These reports can be accessed from the Reports link on the Calibration menu. One of the reports, Calibration
Match Criteria
, displays a popup dialog box which enables the user to enter any combination of criteria. When submitted, a group of calibration records, that match the criteria, are displayed.
