Job Analysis and Assessment

Are you pleased with how your employees do their work?
Do they have the skills to do their jobs?
Are you finding the right people to fill vacancies and new positions?

The skills necessary to compete in today's labor market are far different from those of past decades. The high performance workplace needs workers that can solve problems, communicate, work in teams and demonstrate flexibility in the face of continuous change. Unfortunately, many people are poorly prepared for today's jobs. There is a skills gap between the skills required by many of the jobs in our economy, and the skills possessed both by our incumbent workforce and by young people entering the workforce.

Foundational and technical skills training are critical in equipping our workforce to be able to succeed in this new environment. The need is obvious--workers with increased skills are more productive, make fewer costly mistakes, and are more likely to adapt to technology changes. Increased productivity directly enhances the bottom line, thus providing an excellent return on investment.

By conducting a Job Analysis, you can identify what knowledge and skills are actually required to perform your jobs. These requirements can include individual temperaments, knowledge, aptitudes, psychomotor skills, soft skills, commitments, etc. Customized assessment instruments can then be used to measure the skill levels of individuals currently in the positions, or applying for the jobs. These assessments will identify an individual's strengths, problem areas, and specific skill deficiencies, based on the requirements of the job. Training and educational programs can then become focused to help the individual meet the demands of the workplace.
