The Cisco Local Academy Program
The MCC-Business & Technology Campus is offering preparation for two Cisco certifications. The Industry Standard Qualification, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and the more advanced Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) follow the curriculum outlined below. These programs combine instructor-led and online learning with hands-on laboratory exercises to train students for designing, building, maintaining and troubleshooting computer network systems using Cisco products. The program is offered through a series of four courses that are taught in sequence. Successful completion of the first Academy course is requirement for admission to the second, and so on. Students may also "test out" of a lower course to gain admittance to a later one. This is accomplished by passing both Cisco's online final and the skills based assessment. The fee associated with this is one half the normal tuition rate. Contact an academic advisor at MCC-BTC for more information. Certificate and degree programs are available.
The MCC-Business & Technology Campus is offering a flexible schedule that can be taken in 8 or 16 week formats to complete for CCNA. Successful completion of the four Semesters entitles the students to sit for the certification examination, which can be taken at the MCC-BTC VUE testing center. Currently CCNP is only offered in a 16 week format. CCNP certification exams may be taken at the end of each semester.
