Students in the Geographic
Information Systems certificate program gain skills in
the cutting-edge GIS technology. Through this
certificate students are taught skills that enable them
to capture, store, integrate, analyze and display layers
of data and relate the data in a geographic
perspective. The program is designed to prepare
students to work in the GIS field. GIS professionals
are found in government, business, economics, natural
resources, conservation, industry, science,
infrastructure planning, public works, transportation,
social services, criminal justice, emergency response,
military, architecture, marketing, health care, travel
and space.
