MCC GED testing

Upcoming testing dates: District GED Calendar 2010
Note: Each campus will be different.
MCC campuses are official Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MDESE) GED test sites. The tests are from the American Council on Education. Go to their website for explanations of test sections and sample test questions.

Steps to take the GED test at MCC:

  1. Submit an application to MDESE for authorization to test. This application form can be picked up or mailed from an MCC campus assessment office or testing center (below), or you can download the application from the MDESE website.
  2. When MDESE mails the authorization form, go to an Adult Education and Literacy Center (above) to complete the GED information packet, view a video and take a GED practice test.
  3. To register to take the GED test, you will need the following:
    • Authorization form from the State of Missouri
    • $20 fee (cash or money order only)
    • Completed demographic from Adult Education and Literacy Center
    • Valid Missouri driver's license or Missouri non-driver's license photo ID

Call a campus contact for the latest registration information. Tests are usually scheduled a month in advance. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

A three-to-four week wait for test results is common. Call MDESE in Jefferson City, Missouri, 573.751.3504, with any questions about scoring.
