This alert is to inform you that in the past week we have had several vehicles broken into in the D Lot parking garage.  In most cases GPS units and items left in plain view were stolen from the vehicles. 

Please discourage break-ins and thefts from your vehicle by not leaving any valuables in plain view, especially GPS units.  If you are going to leave valuables in your car, always secure them in your trunk.  Also, avoid putting items in your glove box as this is the first place a criminal looks.   

Please be alert and aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious persons or activity to the Public Safety Department at 816-759-4123. As always, your safety is our first concern. 

If you see a situation that you think is unusual or are the victim of a crime, contact the Penn Valley Public Safety Office immediately by calling 816-759-4123.  From a College phone, dial 9-4123.  In case of an emergency, call 911 (when using a college phone, dial 8-911)
