This program leads to an Associate in Applied Science degree and a certificate of proficiency in grounds maintenance and prepares you for jobs in the groundskeeping and turf management industry.
The Sustainable Agriculture certificate is offered through Johnson County Community College. This certificate will provide educational opportunities that involve agriscience and agribusiness. It will focus on sustainable agriculture, market farming, the preparation of locally grown food and entrepreneurship. Experiential learning will be emphasized by the offering of hands-on courses, numerous field trips, guest lectures and engagement with local farming and food communities. You must be accepted into the program by both MCC and JCCC. You are awarded the certificate from JCCC upon successful completion of all requirements. It is your responsibility to check with an MCC counselor or advisor before enrollment in this certificate program.
