Overview:
The Applied Language Institute at MCC-PV offers comprehensive English as a Second Language instructional programs for academic, personal or professional purposes. Grammar, composition, reading/vocabulary and speaking/listening are available at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Day and evening classes are offered.
All English language learners must take placement tests, including oral, written, and reading assessments to determine appropriate course placement. Testing is available at both the MCC-PV Applied Language Institute and at MCC-LV. Students will be placed at the appropriate level of ESL instruction based on the results of the assessments. International students should schedule an appointment for testing at the ALI at MCC-PV once they arrive in the U.S.
MCC-LV offers ESL courses in the evening through the MCC-Longview, Office of Teaching and Learning Support. See current on-line class schedule for offerings.
