Industrial electrical technicians typically maintain the electrical equipment in a modern manufacturing facility. They'll work on conveyors, automated machinery, robotic work cells, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Industrial electrical technicians work in a wide range of locations. Many maintain electrical equipment in factories. A large number of technicians travel about metropolitan areas servicing equipment at customer locations.
Industrial Electrical Certificate – 1 year
Industrial Technology Associate's Degree – 2 years, if attending full-time. Many students complete the certificate, then take classes toward the A.A.S. degree part-time while working full-time.
Yes! Most general education courses will transfer without problem. This program has a formal transfer agreement with DeVry University and Central Missouri State University. Check with your advisor or counselor and the transfer institution to make sure your transfer will go smoothly.
Entry level salary in this career is typically in the $10 to $12 per hour range. After five years experience, a $20 to $30 per hour salary is typical depending upon the complexity of the equipment maintained.
