Introduction

Putting You in Tune
With One of Today's Hottest Careers

Looking for opportunity?

More than 60,000 automotive technicians are needed nationwide.

Money?

Degreed technicians command salaries from $25,000 to $40,000 and rise rapidly with experience. Exceptional area dealership technicians can make as much as $70,000!

Job satisfaction?

If you like to work with machinery, fix things, solve problems and help people, this is for you.
You'll need skills for a career like this, and the place to get them is the Automotive Technology program at MCC-Longview.

More Than a Mechanic

What kind of skills will you need? Well, there's a good reason mechanics are called automotive technicians these days. They need to know electronics, special tools, emission controls, sophisticated transmissions, fuel injection, and much, much more.

Learn from the Best

Our program has been ranked #1 in the nation for post-secondary automotive training by the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association/ American Vocational Association. It is accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation. And it has received a major award from the US Department of Education. You won't find better automotive technology training anywhere.
Our instructors know vehicles inside out. Our testing equipment is state of the art. Our facility is bright, spacious and well stocked with tools, equipment and components. We keep a fleet of more than 60 late-model cars just for students to train on. Our reputation is solid: area employers know and respect our program. They come to us for the best entry-level technicians.

Hands-on Experience

Whatever direction you take in our program, and there are many options, you'll put your education to work right away: hands-on training is stressed at every level. If you choose our General Motors or Ford/ Mazda program options, you'll also work at local dealerships to gain real-world experience and a paid intership while you learn.
