Prerequisite: Admission to the program. CMTs work in long-term care facilities, home health care, agencies and private duty care. Our program teaches you to assist LPNs or RNs in preparing, administrating and charting medications. Our 60-hour lecture/8-hour clinical training is offered in March and October. You must have a CNA certificate to take this class.

If you are a registered CNA or CMT in another state (and have completed a RN/LPN fundamentals of nursing class), you may be eligible to take the Missouri state certification exam. We set up and administer the exam at a nursing home in the area. It includes written exam and demonstration of skills. A state examiner observes.

Prerequisite: Admission to the program. CNAs are vital in patient care as they perform basic nursing skills for people in long-term care facilities, adult daycare centers, hospitals or homes. Our 75-hour lecture/100-hour clinical training prepares you to take the state board exam (written and skills). Classes offered January, March, June, August and October.

Prerequisite: Minimum training requirements of a CNA, PCT, or other related healthcare role. The Hospice and Palliative Care course has been designed for Nursing Assistants working in a variety of settings, such as: long term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and for hospice homecare organizations seeking nursing assistants cross-trained for the role of Home Health Aide. Learn how to better address the issues of pain management, ethics, cultural considerations, loss and bereavement, spiritual care, and support of both the patient and the family through a combination of computerized education programming and demonstration skills lab sessions. At the conclusion of this course, and with 2000 practice hours under the supervision of an RN, students will be eligible to sit for the certification exam offered by the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.
