Certified Medication Technician

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) works in intermediate care or skilled nursing facilities. CMTs assist in medication therapy. The average Kansas City salary is $30,000 annually.

After successful completion of the course, students will take the State of Missouri exam to become a Certified Medication Technician. Must be active Missouri CNA for a minimum of 6 months on the Registry.

Prerequisites: Must take TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) and receive a qualifying minimum score; provide a letter of recommendation from a facility you are working/have worked for; CPR (Infant/Child/Adult) training.

60 classroom hours and 20 clinical hours cover:                                 

*Prepare, administer and chart medication

*Observe, evaluate, report and record response of residents to medications

*Identify responsibilities associated with control and storage of medications

*Relate side effects, interactions and nursing implications of common medications

$599 includes course fee, book, certificate, license, pin & exam fee.

Become a Certified Bookkeeper
Designed for experienced bookkeepers this class will prepare you to take the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) national certification test to become a Certified Bookkeeper (CB).

By successfully passing two separate examinations and signing a written code of ethics, bookkeepers with at least 2 years' work experience earn the right to put "CB" after their name. Learn more.
