Trailblazer Women Number 1 Seed for Regional Tournament!
As we approach the regional tournament, the Trailblazer women are the top seed in the region (state of Missouri). The ladies stand at 6 wins, 4 losses and 2 ties (2-0-1 in the region). This is quite an improvement from last year when they only managed one win. They will compete in the regional tournament in St. Louis Oct. 31 - Nov. 1. Coach Brad Childers has the team playing an exciting brand of soccer.

WOMENS 2008 SEASON

Friday afternoon, October 31, the Lady Trailblazers, the #1 seed in Region 16 of the NJCAA, defeated St. Louis Community College-Forest Park, 2-1, to advance to the Championship game on Saturday, November 1. As the home team, they hosted the #3 seed, St. Louis Community College-Meramec, who had defeated Maple Woods on Friday. While the Trailblazers played well, they could not overcome a late second-half goal by Meramec, falling 1-0 in the regional championship.

To be the runner-up in the region, in our 2nd year of competition, is an extraordinary accomplishment. We are proud of our student athletes and the way they have represented Blue River this year. Congratulations to the team, coach Brad Childers, Assistant Coach Goran. You are exemplary Trailblazers.
