Dave Owens Men's Soccer Coach
As the first MCC Blue River Trail Blazers Soccer Coach, David Owens brings many years of coaching and work experience with young adults. He played varsity soccer at Spokane Community College and Gonzaga University. David has coached soccer camps for the Skyhawks Sports Academy, as well as high school soccer at Rogers H.S. in Spokane, Washington. He currently coaches club soccer for Futura Futbol Club in Kansas City, as well as with People to People, Sports Ambassadors. Since 2002, his People to People experiences include working with athletes at the Haarlem Cup in Holland, Kiwi Cup in New Zealand, Brazilian Cup near Rio de Janeiro, and Vienna Youth Friendship Games in Austria. Furthermore, David was a People to People Athletic Director for the Holland Youth Friendship Games (2007 & 2008) and
the Vienna Youth Friendship Games (2008).

In addition to his lengthy involvement with soccer, David has a history of meaningful work with young people. He has worked as a volunteer foster care worker in New York City, Career Counselor with the FEC in Kansas City, and Recreation Program Developer with Spokane Public Schools. David is currently the Fitness, Recreation, and Athletic Programs Coordinator for MCC Blue River. This full-time position allows for an available coaching presence on campus for all Blue River student athletes.
