The MoWINs program is a statewide effort to educate Missourians for in-demand careers. It is funded through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant Program, and administered through the Missouri Community College Association.
The program was established to serve veterans and their spouses, those who have lost jobs due to foreign trade, and those who are unemployed, underemployed or underskilled.
In 2015, Metropolitan Community College was awarded $1.9 million for MoSTEMWINs. Twelve other Missouri community colleges also were awarded funds and are participating in this program.
In 2011, MCC was awarded $3.19 million for the MoHealthWINs program and an additional $1.89 million for MoManufacturingWINs in 2012. Eleven other Missouri community colleges were also awarded funds and are participating in this program.
To better meet the needs of our students, MCC has partnered with the Full Employment Council to provide job placement assistance and other services.
