Each year, the Metropolitan Community Colleges serve over 38,000 students at 4 campuses and a number of satellite locations. Blue River Community College serves the Independence and Blue Springs area to the east of Kansas City. Longview Community College serves Lee's Summit and other communities south of Kansas City. Maplewoods Community College is located in north Kansas City and serves students in the northland area. Penn Valley Community College serves the downtown business district and the Westport and Plaza areas of Kansas City. At Penn Valley Community College we serve over 5000 students annually.
