Essential Cisco Networking Academy Information

We are a Cisco Networking Academy. This means we get our curriculum from Cisco, and we are monitored by Cisco. We are currently offering CCNA classes, and starting in spring we will begin to offer a CCNP class. The CCNA classes are CSIS 112, 113, 212, and 213. They are offered in 8 week and 16 week formats. They both contain the same information it's just the 8 week class meets twice a week while the 16 week class only meets once. The 8 week class is targeted at people who already have a background in computers and can handle the faster pace. The CCNP classes are 16 week only, and the course numbers are CSIS 216, 217, 218, and 219. The entire curriculum is online. You can access it from anywhere you have an Internet connection. You may buy a textbook if you want, but it's not required. The only book we require is the lab companion workbook, which contains all the hands on labs. All the tests are also online which may be taken anywhere except the final. There is also a skills based final at the end of each semester to test your configuration skills as well as your book knowledge. A case study is required in semesters 2, 3, and 4 where you work in teams to complete a project. The case study is meant to prepare you for the hands on final. At the end of semesters 2 and 4 you may take a voucher exam. If you pass (70% or higher), you get a voucher from Cisco for half off their certification exam.

All instructors have their CCNA certifications as well as their Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) certifications. We also have a lab tech to have the lab open before class to give students additional lab time if needed.
