Patent & Prototype Workshop
(Continuing Education)
Prerequisites: Working knowledge of PC's and Windows Operating Systems.This workshop focuses on the process of taking an idea through the patent process and developing a 3-dimensional prototype for testing purposes. The core curriculum is designed to provide background knowledge, concepts and the basic skills needed for an aspiring inventor to take the first step in creating a new invention (mechanical in nature only) for the consumer market. This workshop includes theory and practical application. Participants will receive instruction in filing proper paperwork for patent application and training in the latest CADD software. Learning outcomes include basic knowledge of the patent and prototyping processes and a 3-dimensional prototyped part of the concept/idea.
