Admissions Process

General Information

Thirty students are selected for the veterinary technology class each fall. All completed applications must be on file no later than March 15th for review by the selection committee. It is the applicant’s responsibility to verify that his/her application file is complete. The top forty applicants will be invited to interview with the selection committee by April 15th.

The veterinary technology program has limited enrollment and students are selected based on prior academic performance, number of required general education courses completed, work experience, references, motivation, completeness and neatness of the program application and essay grammar and content.

Successful completion of General Zoology (with a lab) is required prior to application to the Veterinary Technology program. General Biology may be substituted, however, Zoology is recommended. Successful completion of this course and others provides valuable information to the selection committee.
