Research topic: "Evidence for extensive hydrothermal events in the genesis of Mississippi Valley-type deposits in the Tri-State zinc-lead mining district or Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma."

Dr. Ragan has extensive field work in Eastern Kansas, the Jumbo mine, Prescott zinc-lead deposit.  Laboratory research includes fluid inclusion studies, x-ray diffraction of minerals and clays.
