  • Blackboard website: http://bboard.mcckc.edu.
  • The Blackboard userID is the same as the myMCCKC userID.
  • To retrieve your Blackboard userID, go to the myMCCKC website and complete a short form.
  • The default Blackboard password is your date of birth in the format yyyymmdd.
  • If you have changed your Blackboard password from default described above, please use the forgot password page below:

    An email with further instructions will be sent to your student/employee email account.

  • If the semester has not started course sites are usually not released until the first scheduled day of classes.
  • Instructors must manually open Blackboard courses once the semester begins for them to appear in your "My Courses" list.
  • It takes approximately twenty-four hours after you pay for a course to add your registration to an online class

  • If you are using AOL:
    1. Start up AOL
    2. Minimize AOL (don't close it, just minimize it so it is running in the background).
    3. Open either Internet Explorer or Firefox then log in to Blackboard to begin working.
  • Please review the browser settings for the following recommended browsers:
    Microsoft Internet Explorer browser settings
    Firefox browser settings.
  • NOTE: Popup window-blocking software will interfere with e-mail, discussion boards, assignment submission, and online testing.

You may be blocked by a firewall at your location. This is often a problem when trying to access the distance ed site from the workplace. If you are at work, you will need to discuss the problem with the network manager at your location.

  1. Planned outages are advertised on the distance ed. site (http://distance.mcckc.edu), and published in advance through "Announcements" in Blackboard.
  2. In case of an unplanned outage, we will communicate these problems to the TechLine and post information on the http://distance.mcckc.edu site.

Any distance ed classes previously distributed through WebCT have been migrated over to Blackboard or recreated by the respective instructors. Beginning with the Summer 2004 semester students login to Blackboard for all Internet or Web-enhanced classes.

Yes, Textbooks for ALL internet courses are available ONLY at the BTC bookstore. To access the BTC online bookstore and place a textbook order request, go to http://bookstores.mcckc.edu/bustech/. For Web Assisted Classes
Access the online bookstore and place a textbook order request, first note the "home campus" of your course(s), then go to http://mcckc.edu/bookstores, then click on the "Buy Books Online" button on the right of the page.
