Metropolitan Community College complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act which prohibit discrimination in admission or access to its programs based on disability. Each MCC campus has an Access Office that provides special services for students with documented disabilities. Arrangements can be made for aids and adjustments to help ensure equal access to programs and services.
The campus Access Office also has information regarding the existence and location of services, activities, and facilities that are accessible to and usable by persons with disabilities.

Overview
If you have a disability, youll find MCC a friendly place.
Through our Access offices, we work to remove barriers to your college education.
We'll help you with:
- Classroom accommodations
- Interpreters, readers and scribes
- Providing resources to faculty or staff
- Connecting with community professionals and agencies
- Supplying textbooks in alternative formats
- Arranging alternative testing
- Providing assistive technology
- Services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
To qualify
Contact an Access office and provide
written documentation of your disability. Returning students can use a
renewal form .
Apply well before each semester starts so accommodations can be arranged. Accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis.
We'll help, but it is your responsibility to deliver documentation and discuss your needs with your instructor.

What Drives Us
Access Mission:
- Our mission is to collaborate with and empower students with disabilities so as to enhance their ability to pursue their educational
and career hopes and desires.
- Determine eligibility for services based on the definition of a disability as found in Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Provide accommodations for students with disabilities who have requested those services including accessibility in facilities,
technology and service delivery methods.
- Collaborate with administration, faculty and staff regarding access and the concept of universal design.
- Provide information regarding disability issues.
Access Vision:
Our vision is to achieve an environment based on the concept of universal design. That someday, all programs, services,
activities and environments will be accessible to all people to the greatest extent possible, and where only specialized
services and unique accommodations are provided by the campus Access office.
- Students are treated with dignity and respect in a welcoming atmosphere.
- Students are essentially responsible for their education plans as well as their decision to access accommodations.
- Students have the right to privacy.
- Service providers will advocate for reasonable accommodations understanding the balance between the student's needs and the
college's desire not to fundamentally alter the nature of the program.
