Expected Student Outcomes for
Math 105 - Algebra & Trigonometry for Land Surveyors
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Analyze quadratic and linear relationships and formulate mathematical
models to determine rates of change, maximum/minimum and solutions to
other applications.
Calculate and interpret the geometry of area, volume and distance.
Define
circles graphically and algebraically and interpret applications of
circles.
Perform calculations and unit conversions with the correct number of
significant digits.
Differentiate between exact and approximate calculations.
Read and interpret contour maps.
Solve
applications using right triangle trigonometry, law of sines, law of
cosines, arc length, vectors, and bearings.
