MCC is a great value. Our tuition is one of the lowest in the area - about 1/3 that of public four-year schools and a tiny fraction of private colleges. We offer many ways to pay plus a tuition payment plan to make it even easier to afford college.

Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice. Per-hour cost includes a $2 student activity fee and a $3 technology fee. A $10 general fee is also assessed once a semester to students taking credit classes. This general fee is designed to cover miscellaneous fees students might incur throughout the semester such as the cost of ordering transcripts and applying for graduation. |

You pay out-of-district tuition if you don't live in the above districts, but still live in Missouri. Out-of-state applies if you live outside of Missouri or the country. However, if you're from Minnesota, Michigan or Nebraska, you may be eligible for reduced rates for some career programs through the MSEP program.
Are you from Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, or Wisconsin? You can take advantage of the Midwest Student Exchange program (MSEP) and save about 1/3 on out-of-state tuition for some career programs. Tuition is 150% percent of the current in-district rate.
Some programs limit the number of students. For more information, check out the MSEP Chart (PDF), and the Midwestern Higher Education Commission website.
Once admitted to MCC, you will need to declare a program of study with an Academic Advisor and then contact the Records/Business Office to establish your MSEP tuition rate, if eligible.
If you're 65 or older and live in district (see above), you can take classes for free if space is available. Some classes require a lab or studio fee.
Some courses have an additional $14-per-hour fee for lab or studio time. Some health, ESL and music programs require additional fees that can reach several hundred dollars.
An additional fee is added to all fully online (Internet) and Hybrid classes (classes which combine on-campus and online instruction). There is no fee for students attending a Video Conferencing class on an MCC campus. The additional fee structure is as follows:
| Credit Hours | Hybrid class | Internet Class |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $6 | $15 |
| 2 | $12 | $30 |
| 3 | $18 | $45 |
| 4 | $24 | $60 |
| 5 | $30 | $75 |
| 6 | $36 | $80 |
If we cancel a class, you will get a 100% refund. All other refunds are based on the date you officially drop a class. View refund dates. Failure to attend class is not considered an official drop. Unpaid account balances will have the refund credited back to your account.
When you change addresses, update your records immediately through the StudentCenter, or submit a Statistical Data Change form (pdf) to a records office. Your tuition rate is based on where you live before the semester starts. Once it begins, we will make your changes and you will pay the new tuition rate next semester.
Auditing lets you review a class without grades or tests. No credit is given and fees are the same as for a credit course. If you wish to audit, you must declare this when you enroll.
