American Tribal Style Bellydance® is both a celebration of the female spirit and a physical display of the strength and beauty of women. It's roots can be traced back to the rituals of past matriarchal cultures and to the secular entertainments evolved as the gypsies traveled through India, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Spain. Learn to dance by drilling the basics in fun combinations. Using both slow movements and fast steps we'll get you dancing in your first class! All basic movements and group formations in a six-week cycle including posture and body awareness, zils and music. Vocabulary covered includes Shimmy, Pivot Bump/Choo Choo, Arabic, Egyptian, Floreos, Arm Undulations, Taxeem, Bodywave, Torso Rotation and Circle Step.
Instructor Susan Warner has been dancing American Tribal Style® Bellydance since 2006. Studying with Carolena of FatChanceBellydance® in San Francisco, she received her certification in 2009, and is now a FCBD® Sister Studio.
