Welcome to those students who are returning to Project Success as well as those of you who are new to the program.
The best thing about a new year is that it is new! You have a new opportunity to make good grades, a new chance to attend your classes regularly, a new year to be the best that you can be. I want to share a few tips to help:
- Stop by. Come by the Project Success area to see what is happening. We have a bulletin board in front announcing coming events and workshops.
- Get involved. There is a strong connection between student involvement on campus and success. Would it surprise you to know that many students that drop out of school are in good academic standing at the time of their departure? The extent to which a student is involved with the college is strongly linked to student learning and development.
- Plan to succeed! Organize and prioritize. You won’t fulfill your dreams or attain your goals by accident. Your plan must be intentional and specific. If you need help or would like to sit down with someone and develop a plan to succeed, stop by my office. I would be happy to assist.
- Commit. This is the action of binding yourself to a cause or course of action. When you become frustrated, tired or want to give up, this will keep you pressing forward.
Remember, we are here to help you succeed!
Have a great semester!
Wishing you a successful school year,
Director, Project Success
